What is the InterBlogCon?
Here's the basics on InterBlogCon. It stands for International Blogger Convention.
It's a two-day blogger convention for anyone who wants to attend. It will happen in July (dates TBD.) It will happen on a Saturday and Sunday. There will be there categories: book bloggers, booktubers, and bookstagramers. There will be a cosplay and fan art contest happening on the first day (Saturday.) It will happen during 9:30am-2pm EST. There are four blocks per day. (Total of eight blocks.) Therefore, you can attend eight classes total during the whole event. That doesn't mean you can't jump in and out of classes if you'd like, but please note that we don't advise this.
The hope for this event is for people to meet new people and learn new things.
Anyone can attend. There are no age limits. We welcome everyone.
When and Where is this going to happen?
The date is TBD. This is going to happen online.
The applications currently being used are Hangouts on Air and Chatzy. These have yet to be tested.
What is going to happen during the Con?
During the two days, there are eight blocks. Each block has many different classes you can choose from. Each division (blogger, bookstagram, and booktube) will have at least one or two classes. You can choose any class you like or hop on over to the chat and have fun meeting new people.
At the end of Day One/Saturday, there will be some recapping and fun activities like a cosplay and fan art contest where the attendees get to choose the winner! And possible giveaways.
At the end of Day Two/Sunday, there will be a closing ceremony and more giveaways!

Why You Should Staff InterBlogCon!

Why should you join the InterBlogCon staff? Let me give you some pros and cons!
Pros:
You will meet new people
With all the people who will attend and help, you'll definitely meet new people. From hosts to moderators to teachers to attendees, there are so many people to meet.
You will learn new things
With the teachers teaching everything under the sun, you'll learn something new every day. From blogging to life to books, there are so many opportunities.
You are able to meet people all over the world
This convention is international (it's in the name.) So you can meet people from the four corners of the world.
You can enter some awesome giveaways and contents
Winning prizes is always cool too! The con will have a fan art and cosplay contest where you could win prizes. Not into the artsy stuff, that's fine. There will be an overarching giveaway for all attendees.
Cons:
I admit, it is a time commitment
Being a part of InterBlogCon takes time. There's time for the con itself and for the preparations. You have to dedicate time for different aspects of the con.
It is also takes energy
To be a staff member or an attendee takes energy. As a staff member, you have to be connected with the hosts and other staff members. With the preparations, there is energy to be used to create forms, schedules, and whatever else we need.
But overall, the pros outweigh the cons.
If you want to help out, we always have spots open. We'd love your help.

Thanks to Jess from Princessica of Books (one of the hosts) for this graphic!
|
This event happens throughout June.
It's similar to The Broke and the Bookish's TBTBSecretSanta during December. It's a gift exchange. Anyone can join. You don't have to be a blogger to do this. And this is international!
It was created for people to have a little pick-up-me in the middle of the year. And you don't have to wait for the holidays or your birthday for a gift!
To signup for updates on BiblioSummerSwag, fill out this quick form. There will be emails about hosting and joining in on the fun!
The best option for being informed is joining the subscription.
If you'd like to be a host, here's the form.
Sorry! But the hosts for BiblioSummerSwag 2016 are already chosen! Try again next year!
Note: Hosts will be chosen by me (Wren.) Hosts will make sure people know about BiblioSummerSwag. They will organize people and match people up and make sure everyone is having fun!
Also, hosts will change every year. So if you're not a host for this year, maybe you'll be a host for next year!
There is no form to sign up to participate yet, so please sign up for the newsletter.

Note: Hosts will be chosen by me (Wren.) Hosts will make sure people know about InterBlogCon and help teachers. They will answer any questions asked when I (Wren) am not available. Hosts will help out in any way possible to make attendees welcome. And, of course, hosts can attend classes.
Also, hosts will change every year. So if you're not a host for this year, maybe you'll be a host for next year!
If you'd like to be a moderator, here's the form.
Note: Moderators will watch over chats and make sure no funny business happens. We want a safe and PG (at most PG-13) environment for all ages. This is no age limit to attendees or staff (hosts/moderators/promoters/designers/teachers.)
Moderators are immediately accepted.
If you'd like to be a teacher, here's the form.
Note: Teachers can teach anything from three categories: book blogger, booktuber, and bookstagramer. (New categories are being considered for next year.) Teachers will choose a topic of their choice. Classes can be repeated over many blocks. Classes can also be more than one hour/block.
Teachers will be accepted unless you don't reply or keep in contact with me. Being a teacher means keeping me in the loop!
And it's fine if you don't know your topic yet. We can figure that out.
We hope to have 5-10 classes per block. So please apply!
If you'd like to help out with promotion and graphic design, you can just email me!
